FACILITIES

1. LIBRARY     The STI Library contains a fairly large collection of books on diverse subjects such as management, development, philosophy, Information Technology, finance, accounting, statistical management, social sciences, public administration, revenue administration, economics, humanities, political science, sociology, law, religion, history, bibliographies, literature, service law/manuals etc, Daily newspapers of national repute are accessible to trainees. Reference books like encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlas, handbooks, yearbooks, government publications, documents reports etc are available in the library. Books are systematically catalogued and a well-versed librarian is readily available to render advice and services.

2. LIBRARY INSTRUCTIONS FOR ISSUE AND RETURN OF BOOKS
The participants are normally issued the course related books / materials on the first day of their arrival / report at the Staff Training Institute, at the time of course registration. They return these books / materials in the library on or before the last day / date of their course completion, in recognition of which they obtain / produce an NOC (i.e. No Objection Certificate) from the librarian. The defaulting participants neither are granted certificate of completion of training nor are relieved .Their names / particulars are also sent to the competent authority for disciplinary action and recovery of books / materials.
Besides the above, the participants can also borrow two books at a time for the duration of seven days or last day of the course completion, which ever comes first. The conditions of NOC from the librarian also apply in this case.
Full time/permanent faculty members can borrow up to four books at a time for the duration of ten days. However, on expiry of this period the books can be re-issued twice, provided the books are physically produced before the librarian at the time of re-issue. In case of any default, a fine of Rs. 50.00 per day is imposed and the matter is referred to the parent department of the member/competent authority for disciplinary action and recovery.
In case of loss of a book, the borrower either shall provide replacement or shall pay the cost of replacement as decided by the competent authority. In case the book is not available in the market, the person responsible would pay five times the historic price (recorded purchase price) of the book / material.
In case of transfer of any officer / official of the Staff Training Institute, he / she shall not be relieved until a NOC is obtained from the Librarian; Disciplinary case is also initiates imultanesly against the defaulters.

3. INTERNET FACILITY
STI has DSL facility. Free net facility is provided to both the Administration and Training Wings. All the employees of the STI are given separate systems that are linked together through different networking. While for the trainees, we have two big and spacious labs with enough capacity and computers that almost every trainee has access to net.

4. COMPUTER LABS
STI provide basic, medium and advance computer training to the Provincial Government employees. Two computer labs equipped with 44 Pentium-IV computers are operational to provide computing facilities to the participants All the computers are connected via Local Area Network and following facilities are available in Computer Labs:-

5. SOUND SYSTEM
The facility of sound system in classrooms and Computer Labs.

6. OTHER FACILITIES
The Staff Training Institute also has the following facilities to support its training activities.

1. Two spacious air-conditioned classrooms fully equipped with modern training facilities.
2. Two spacious air-conditioned Computer Labs fully equipped with the modern training facilities.
3. An air-conditioned Library with central /round tables/ sitting arrangements for group discussions syndicates as well as reading purposes.
4. A vast open space (outside the classrooms) for holding official ceremonies / functions.
5. Transport facility for pick and drops of guest /resource persons and local / study tours of the participants.

7. TRAINING SECTION
Training Wing is headed by a Deputy Secretary-cum-Deputy Director (Training) and is assisted by an Instructor-cum-Section Officer (Training), and other supporting Staff. This wing is responsible for planning, analyzing, organizing and conducting the capacity building training courses in accordance with the approved plan under the direction of the Director, STI. Faculty members are required to attend all training activities without exception. The wing provides all the required training support to the resource persons/ guest speakers and participants. Keeping complete record of training and research related activities/hand books/briefings are also handled by this Wing.

8. ADMINISTRATION SECTIONS
This Wing is headed by a Deputy Secretary-cum-Deputy Director (Administration) and is assisted by an Instructor-cum-Section Officer (Administration) and other supporting staff. The wing is responsible for Financial Management maintenance and upkeep of assets of the Institute and providing administrative support to the Training Wings for smooth conduct of training activities.

9. IT SECTION
The IT Wing oversees the installation and maintenance of Computer Network, Website management, Updating and uploading on STI official website, Complaints handling on Pakistan Citizen Portal & Right To Information Commission(RTI) portal, Biometric attendance system, Hardware and Software Maintenance and up gradation and Internet related issues.
Moreover IT Department Provide all types of IT related Trainings (depending upon number and types of Courses/Trainings offered) such as Computer Networks & Internet, Email System, Practical Networking, Web Development, Office Automation (Word, Excel, Power Point, outlook), Computer Architecture and design and others.
